Thermally stable trusses made of carbon plastic are structures composed of rods and fittings. In some cases, fitting-free truss structures can be manufactured.

Yuzhnoye Design Office and the East Ukrainian National University developed a technology of automated winding of rods and multi-beam fittings of carbon plastic. The technology provides good physical and mechanical characteristics of products and reduces a coefficient of linear thermal expansion of the material. The technology provides 50-60% mass reduction as compared with aluminum truss structures.
